Feeling good. What does it mean? Emotional well being, physically pain free, that is such a significant question. It depends on the person. How we look at things has a lot to do with how we feel.  Everyone has their high and low points. Do we all react the same way? The answer is no. Each of us is a unique and individual person and how we react has much to do with who we are.

Emotional and physical, what do they have to do with each other? More than we may think. Our bodies work as complex machines and one has everything to do with the other. For example a person falls and breaks a bone. That break can limit mobility. It can also cause pain. And what about the interruption in the patients life, a hospital stay and doctor and therapy appointments. All of this can result in depression. Unable to continue with your life as you know it can have a profound effect on who you are and how you feel. An emotionally well person before this happened can find themselves spiraling into unknown territory and unable to pull themselves out. So what do you do? If you have already taken steps to remedy the medical problem you may have to look to yourself for healing. Your health may never be perfect again. Some illnesses and accidents can leave you with permanent disabilities, but you can go on with your life. Don’t have a pity party.  Feeling sorry for yourself will only make things worse. Complaining will get you a limited amount of sympathy at first but then you will find everyone has a problem of one kind or another and they will tire of your wining. Get up and get moving. Decide to make the best of everyday. Sure it will be hard at first when your inner self is yelling I’m sick, I hurt, I’m depressed. Don’t give in. Take small steps each day and you will begin to feel more optimistic.  Keep searching for ways to improve your life, health and future. What happens next will depend on you. Good Luck.
